When YLNI first started, there was a lot of discussion about our name. We wanted to be inclusive and represent our diverse group of young leaders from across Northeast Indiana. So, we settled on "Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana" to reflect who we are and our regional impact. Hence, the quirky acronym YLNI. Trust us, it gets easier to say with practice!

One great thing about YLNI is the variety of ways you can get involved. If you're just curious, sign up for our weekly newsletter to stay updated on all our activities or follow us on social media to see what's going on. Attend events that catch your eye, and we'll have someone there to help you get acquainted. If you're passionate and want to do more, join a committee to help plan events and grow your skills. And if you're really enthusiastic, consider joining the leadership team. We're always seeking new leaders for task forces, committees, and the board.

This is where things happen! YLNI committees are making things happen with awesome events and support for the organization. We're busy and bursting with ideas, and we'd love for you to get involved! While average committee engagement ranges between 1-3 hours per month, we will take any time you are able to give us based on your capacity. You just need to resonate with our mission. Our members are typically in their 20s or 30s.

We ensure diversity by including professionals and organizations from a wide range of industries such as technology, healthcare, finance, education, manufacturing, marketing, and more. We strive to represent both for-profit and non-profit sectors, offering a diverse perspective and expertise to our initiatives.

We're a large group, but we keep things informal. We gather for a General Membership Meeting once a year. We have regular monthly events like Hot Spots and committee meetings throughout the year, both in Fort Wayne and the wider region. We host leadership programming that spans several months at a time throughout the year. Our Farmers Market runs every Saturday. Our other events are posted on our website, shared on social media, and published in our newsletter.

For certain events, registration is required, while others may not require it. You'll find specific registration details, along with the date, time, and location, in each event's description.

Typically, our programs involve an application process due to the high level of interest we receive. Because of this, it can be competitive. Each application is carefully reviewed to ensure the best mix of participants for each cohort.
