Let's Comedy: Making Fort Wayne Laugh

By

Let’s Comedy has been making Fort Wayne laugh for three years, and they haven’t stopped yet. Jirk Comedy became Let’s Comedy, which has taken over 2016, claiming it to be “The Year of Comedy.” With comedic acts like Hannibal Buress and Sasheer Zamata from Saturday Night Live coming to The Fort, this group is fostering change in Fort Wayne.

The culture formed around the intimate downtown venues and the amount of talent of all the artists in Fort Wayne has softened the way that artists and talent agencies view this demographic.

Hayley Johnson of Let’s Comedy said, “They are just popping up everywhere and it’s great!”

Let’s Comedy has 15 local venues in Fort Wayne which include The Tiger Room at CS3 and Brass Rail. They have even garnered partnerships with the Indianapolis comedy communities. Let's Comedy has expanded to offer open mic nights now for all types of art like acting, writing, comedies, physical acts like juggling and magic shows, and more. This type of show will be called Guerrilla Warfare, and we can’t wait to hear more about it. If you're looking to brush up your own comedy chops, workshops are available to develop your own skills ranging from sketch, improvisation, and writing.

Hayley Johnson said “How do we make these cities a better place?”

Let's Comedy offers local comedians opportunities to express themselves in a safe environment.  Let’s Comedy also assists with all types of local businesses and corporate and charity events. Their next event is Jake “The Snake” Roberts' UnSpokeN WorD TouR Live at CS3 on September 29 from 8:00pm-10:00pm. Check out details here.
