The Sidecar: Fort Wayne's Newest Outdoor Bar & Grill

By

Like dining al fresco? If so, check out The Sidecar, Fort Wayne’s newest patio bar and grill. Opened by Wine Down Tastings and Tapas, The Sidecar is a separate outdoor bar located on the restaurant’s patio.  The menu is laid-back featuring appetizers and highlighting items such as burgers, craft beer, and wine to name a few. So, with that in mind, I’d like to share more about my own experience at The Sidecar.

I dined at the restaurant as a date night, and my partner and I were greeted, and led to a street-side table where we browsed the menu. The views of downtown and Parkview Field are certainly perks of the location! Beginning with the food, we decided on the vegetarian burger with avocado, and a Korean short rib dish with rice. We also enjoyed some Three Floyd’s Alpha King that was on draft. In regards to the service, our server was knowledgeable and patient. She answered our many questions, and was prompt and personable. Overall, the meal was fabulous.

While eating, we took in the scenery and feel of the bar. As mentioned above, the views of downtown were beautiful and the atmosphere was very nice. I recommend dining in the evening because the restaurant has fire pits and pretty outdoor lighting which adds to the experience. The décor is modern, and the place feels casual and comfortable—like a friend’s backyard.

Overall, the restaurant is in a great location, the food is delicious, and the service is top-notch. It is perfect for so many occasions including a date night. I’m already looking forward to watching the Tin Caps fireworks while sipping a cocktail slushy next summer! Definitely give this place a try while it’s still in season.
