YLNI Farmers Market Awarded Readers’ Choice Award
FORT WAYNE, INDIANA – For the second year running, YLNI Farmers Market has been voted the 2020 Readers’ Choice Best Farmers Market by Fort Wayne Newspapers.
Market Manager Ashley Wagner said, “We are thankful to serve the community of Fort Wayne with our producer-only market. This award isn’t only for us, but for all our vendors and volunteers that put forth so much effort each week.”
The YLNI Farmers Market has been a staple on Barr Street for more than 15 years. Adapting to the changing circumstances during the 2020 season was no small fete. The YLNI Board, market committee, and volunteers made a conscious effort to keep everyone feeling safe during the summer market. Some of the items that were incorporated included:
- Hand sanitizer stations;
- Adjusting the layout to encourage social distancing;
- Mask requirements; and
- Delivery and pick-up options through local delivery services.
We encourage everyone to support the local vendors that use the market as their storefront. The not-for-profit market would not be possible without the support of the community, vendors, and our volunteers. Thank you to our 2020 community sponsors and partners.

The YLNI Farmers Market is a producer-only market, meaning that our vendors personally make or grow the products they sell. Every vendor is local, coming from Allen or surrounding counties. The market is run entirely by volunteers who are passionate about engaging our community and supporting YLNI’s mission by creating an environment for community, professional and social engagement.
